Acoustic Improvement for Bratislava Police Call Room

Project Overview

The Bratislava City Police contacted DECIBEL to solve an acoustic problem in a call room dedicated to phone communications. Excessive echo was making it difficult for officers to clearly understand conversations.

Because of the room’s limited size and functional layout, wall-mounted solutions were not possible, so the goal was to improve sound clarity using only the ceiling.

Challenge

The main challenge was the restricted office space, wall modifications were off-limits, leaving the ceiling as the only area available for treatment.

The solution had to significantly reduce echo, improve speech intelligibility, and integrate seamlessly into the room’s official interior without disrupting operations.

Scope of Work

• Acoustic consultation and room assessment
• Design and customization of ceiling-mounted acoustic panels
• Supply and installation of Echo Moon circular panels in client-selected colors

Solution

DECIBEL installed Echo Moon acoustic panels, circular ceiling-mounted elements designed for efficient sound absorption. The panels were customized in color to match the room’s existing aesthetics, ensuring that the final result was both visually and acoustically effective.

This ceiling-only approach delivered significant reverberation control without requiring structural changes to the walls.

Result

The project achieved excellent results, echo was significantly reduced, and speech clarity during calls was noticeably improved. The solution enhanced both functionality and appearance, proving that even in small or limited spaces, acoustic comfort can be dramatically improved with the right design.
