Echo reduction in meeting room and office space at OncoOne

Project Overview

DECIBEL provided a tailored acoustic treatment solution for OncoOne Research & Development GmbH, based in Bratislava, in collaboration with local partner POTICHU. The client contacted the team to solve a reverberation problem in a key meeting room, where excessive echo was affecting communication and overall comfort.

The aim was to improve speech clarity while preserving a modern and professional appearance.

Reducing Echo for Better Communication in Meeting Rooms

Echo and poor sound control in meeting rooms can interfere with productive discussions, especially in office spaces where clear communication is essential.

In this project, the client needed a solution that would reduce reverberation, improve the acoustic conditions, and visually fit into a modern office interior.

Challenge

The main issue was high reverberation time in a key meeting room, caused by sound reflecting off hard surfaces. The solution needed to effectively absorb sound while also maintaining a clean and professional appearance across the corporate office areas.

Scope of Work

• Assessment of the acoustic conditions in the meeting room
• Design of an echo reduction solution suitable for ceiling and wall areas
• Installation of Echo Cloud square hanging ceiling panels
• Installation of Acer wooden acoustic panels in shared office areas
• Alignment of acoustic materials with the interior design of the workspace

Solution

To address the echo in the meeting room, DECIBEL installed Echo Cloud acoustic hanging panels, suspended from the ceiling. These panels are designed to absorb sound in open areas and reduce reflections from above.

In addition, Acer wooden acoustic panels were used in the common office spaces. These panels not only absorb sound but also contribute to the visual identity of the workplace with their elegant wooden surface. The combination of both panel types delivered a balanced approach to acoustic comfort and interior aesthetics.

Result

After the installation, the meeting room experienced improved speech clarity and reduced echo, supporting more productive conversations and presentations. The integration of wooden panels in the open office area also enhanced the visual appeal of the space while maintaining acoustic performance.

The client was satisfied with the results, which successfully combined function and design.
