Project Overview

DECIBEL was contacted to install floor sound insulation in a newly purchased private home. The new owners wanted to make sure that they would not hear noise coming from the neighbours below. The main concerns were airborne noise, such as speech and music, and structural noise, such as footsteps and impact sounds.

Challenge

Solution

DECIBEL installed the F-MUTE SYSTEM™, a panel system designed specifically for floor sound insulation. This system blocks both airborne and structural noise by combining mass and vibration control in a layered design.

The panels were installed across the entire floor. Their composition allows for high insulation performance while keeping the added thickness to a minimum. The clean and efficient installation made it possible to continue the interior finishing without delay.

Result
