Sound insulation for diesel generators

Project Overview

DECIBEL was assigned to complete a soundproofing project for a diesel generator. The goal was to reduce the high noise levels produced by the generator during operation. The project also included the design and installation of a sound-insulating door and additional noise reduction barriers.

To achieve effective results, DECIBEL used a combination of products, including LP 80 sound-absorbing panels, specially designed for mechanical noise control.

Reducing Diesel Generator Noise with Sound Insulation

Challenge

Scope of Work

• On-site inspection of the generator and the surrounding area
• Design of a custom sound insulation system

  • Sound-insulating door
  • Noise reduction barriers
  • LP 80 sound-absorbing panels

Solution

DECIBEL installed a complete sound insulation system around the generator. LP 80 acoustic panels were placed to absorb noise directly from the generator body. Sound reduction barriers were positioned to block sound from spreading to nearby areas.

A custom sound-insulating door was added to ensure full enclosure while allowing access for maintenance. The system was designed to reduce noise while allowing proper ventilation and safe operation of the generator.

Result

The noise levels from the diesel generator were significantly reduced after installation. The surrounding area became quieter, improving comfort and safety. The client was satisfied with the results and confirmed that the soundproofing system met the project’s goals.
