Soundproofing at Avocal Music Studio

Project Overview

Avocal Music Studio chose DECIBEL for high-quality studio soundproofing and acoustic treatment solutions improve sound clarity but also incorporate a modern and eye-catching style. The goal is to better the studio's audio performance by including unique acoustic panels and diffusers that are tailored to the space's technical and aesthetic requirements.

It is important in any music or recording studio to regulate sound reflections, echo, and outside noise. Proper acoustic treatment provides precise audio monitoring, while good soundproofing prevents noise from outside disturbance and sound leakage, protecting both production quality. Without it, even the best audio equipment cannot perform to its full potential.

Challenge

The client requested a solution that provided high-frequency sound diffusion while at the same time acting as a visual statement in the studio. Incorporating unique LED acoustic panels into a small recording space required precise acoustic engineering and design execution.

Scope of Work

• Installation of custom-finished Acoustic Diffusers for high-frequency scattering
• Integrated LED lighting to enhance the visual impact of acoustic surfaces
• Wall treatment with Echo Wall Panels for broad-spectrum absorption
• Ceiling and corner treatment using Fomex Pyramid Foam Panels and Sharp Bass Traps

Solution

To begin, DECIBEL installed a range of custom-colored acoustic diffusers that optimize high-frequency reflection control while enhancing the studio’s visual flow. The diffusers were chosen for their dual performance and sculptural design, making them ideal for recording studios that demand both function and style.

DECIBEL used textile-wrapped Echo Wall Panels to absorb mid and high frequencies over flat surfaces. These panels provide great sound absorption while maintaining a clean, architectural look, making them ideal for balancing reflections without overwhelming the visual space.

Fomex Pyramid Foam Panels were placed to reduce reverberation and standing waves in compact spaces. Their pyramidal form and open-cell foam structure aid to evenly distribute energy, decreasing flutter echo and room vibrations.

Finally, for low-frequency absorption, Sharp Bass Traps were deployed in corners and along rear walls. These traps target the most difficult-to-control frequencies, ensuring balanced, neutral monitoring throughout the space.
