The Model 22 NoiseBadge system revolutionises personal noise exposure monitoring by removing the limitations of traditional dosimeters. Designed as a fully self-contained unit with no cables, displays, or controls, it eliminates the risk of damage, interference, or tampering during measurements. The NoiseBadge ensures accurate, compliant data collection across diverse working environments, from industrial plants and construction sites to transportation and public services.

How It Works

The NoiseBadge is an independent Personal Sound Exposure Meter (PSEM) that continuously records noise exposure data throughout a worker’s shift. It measures key parameters such as LAeq, LEP,d, % Dose, and TWA, in full compliance with global occupational noise standards. The badge communicates wirelessly with the ergonomic Decibel Reader Unit, which manages setup, calibration, start/stop commands, and data transfer via infrared connection. The Reader’s built-in acoustic calibrator automatically verifies system accuracy before and after each measurement, ensuring full compliance with IEC 61252:1997 and ANSI S1.25:1991.

Key Benefits

  • Self-contained, cable-free design prevents tampering or damage
  • Fully compliant with IEC 61252:1997 and ANSI S1.25:1991 standards
  • Meets EN 61000-6-3 and EN 61000-6-1 EMC emission and immunity standards
  • Wide dynamic measurement range (70–130 dB(A)) with “C” peak weighting
  • Ergonomic Decibel Reader with large backlit LCD display
  • Integral acoustic calibrator ensures pre- and post-measurement verification
  • Wireless infrared data transfer for fast, contact-free communication
  • Supplied with AnalyzerPlus software for analysis and reporting (license-free)
  • Optional intrinsically safe model for hazardous environments

Installation & Operation Overview

The NoiseBadge attaches securely to a worker’s clothing or helmet and requires no external cables or microphones. Once activated, it records continuous time-history data for the full work period. All setup, calibration, and reporting tasks are managed via the Decibel Reader Unit. After data collection, results are downloaded to the AnalyzerPlus software for review, exposure calculation, and automatic compliance reporting. The device supports both European and US regulatory frameworks by calculating either Daily Exposure (LEP,d) or Time Weighted Average (TWA).
