PolySound Membrane – High-Elastic Soundproofing Layer

PolySound Membrane is a dense, polymer-based acoustic barrier designed to deliver strong noise insulation across a wide range of building applications. Asphalt-free and equipped with a polypropylene fleece for extra strength, it combines durability with excellent soundproofing capability.
From ceilings, walls, and floors to industrial machine rooms and metal structures, PolySound Membrane offers versatile protection against airborne and impact noise, creating quieter, more efficient environments.
How It Works
PolySound Membrane works by adding mass and damping capacity to lightweight elements such as floors, walls, ceilings, and metal panels. Its dense composition reduces the transmission of airborne noise, while its viscoelastic properties absorb vibrations and impact noise.
The polypropylene fleece improves tear resistance, protects the membrane during handling, and allows for a neat finish if left exposed. It also functions as a vapour control layer, adding an extra functionality to the system.
Key Benefits
- High acoustic insulation with lightweight or flexible elements.
- Strong sound-damping capacity on metal surfaces.
- Easy to handle, cut, and adapt to uneven surfaces.
- Acts as a vapour control layer for added functionality.
- Resistant to heat, cold, ageing, and rot.
- Good bonding with the most common construction surfaces.
- Flexible solution suitable for residential, commercial, and industrial applications.
Installation Overview
PolySound Membrane can be installed on most common substrates, including gypsum board, plaster, metal, and plastics. Surfaces must be smooth, clean, and dry to ensure proper adhesion.
- Bonded installation: adhesive applied to both surfaces, pressed to ensure full contact.
- Mechanical fastening: the fixing method depends on the support and system used.
- On metal decks: rolls should be laid perpendicular to the deck profile, following its shape without air pockets. The fleece side must face up for protection.
- Laps: minimum 5 cm overlap, carefully sealed to maintain insulation performance.
