Soundproofing membrane DCvisco™
DCvisco ™ is a synthetic, viscoelastic, PVC-based soundproof membrane which is designed to increase sound absorption by increasing the density of noise insulation systems. DCvisco membrane is used to increase the sound insulation characteristics of the MUTE SYSTEM and is applied between the sound insulation panels and the top plasterboard layer.
Placed between two sound-absorbing layers, the soundproof membrane acts as a vibration damping and sound-insulating layer that works effectively for medium and high frequencies, it is particularly effective in high-resonance frequencies. Its application in the MUTE SYSTEM adds up to 3 dB noise reduction to the sound insulation system.
DCvisco is also an eco-friendly soundproof membrane made of 80% recycled PVC.
DCvisco can be attached to any surface - flat or curved. Commonly, DCvisco is randomly stapled (enough to ensure the membrane won’t slip or distort) to the surface of Mute prior to installing the outer gypsum board layer. For the highest efficiency, the membrane is placed on the MUTE SYSTEM panels and then covered with a layer of plasterboard.
