Acoustic Upgrade for CESAM’s Meeting Room with Wall Panels

Project Overview

In the meeting room of CESAM Ltd., located in Sparrow, excessive echo was compromising the clarity of speech and overall acoustic comfort. This issue was particularly disruptive during internal meetings and online calls where intelligibility is critical.

DECIBEL was approached to develop an acoustic solution that would not only reduce reverberation but also align with the company’s brand identity.

Challenge

Meeting rooms demand clear and focused sound environments, but hard surfaces and standard ceiling materials often lead to reflections that muddy speech.

In this case, the challenge was twofold: reduce reverberation without major structural changes, and ensure the solution matched CESAM’s corporate aesthetics.

Scope of Work

• Acoustic consultation and on-site assessment
• Design of a custom wall treatment with Echo Wall panels in CESAM’s brand colours
• Replacement of standard ceiling cassettes with high-performance acoustic cassettes
• Installation of both wall panels and ceiling cassettes for comprehensive echo control

Solution

DECIBEL proposed a dual treatment strategy. Echo Wall acoustic panels were mounted across the room’s vertical surfaces, offering targeted reverberation control while doubling as a design feature in CESAM’s corporate colours.

To enhance the effect, we replaced the standard suspended ceiling tiles with acoustic cassettes, improving sound absorption from above. Done in collaboration with our partners from POTICHU.

This solution ensured balanced sound diffusion across all frequencies, creating a more focused and comfortable auditory experience in the room.

Result

The result was a marked improvement in speech clarity and acoustic comfort. Echo and reverberation were significantly reduced, enabling better communication during meetings and video calls.

The design integration with CESAM’s branding elevated the room’s visual identity while solving a persistent acoustic problem.
