Project Overview

A client in Estonia contacted DECIBEL to improve the sound quality in their home cinema. The goal was to reduce echo, control bass, and improve the clarity of sound in the room.

DECIBEL offered a complete solution using three acoustic treatment products. The proposed system included Circulo™ perforated acoustic panels, Pi 3.14™ Bass Traps, and fabric-covered acoustic wall panels. The client approved the solution, and the installation was completed successfully.

Creating Clear Sound in a Home Cinema

In home cinemas, sound reflections and strong low frequencies can affect the quality of listening. Echo can make voices hard to understand. Uncontrolled bass can overpower other sounds. To enjoy movies and music fully, the sound in the room must be clear and balanced.

This project focused on reducing unwanted reflections and improving the acoustic comfort of the space.

Challenge

The home cinema room had hard surfaces that reflected sound. This caused echo and made the sound unclear. Bass frequencies were also too strong in some areas of the room. The challenge was to reduce both the echo and the uneven bass while keeping the room comfortable and stylish.

Scope of Work

  • Analysis of the acoustic conditions in the room

  • Recommendation of suitable treatment products

  • Installation of the following:

    • Circulo™ perforated acoustic panels

    • Pi 3.14™ Bass Traps

    • Fabric acoustic wall panels

  • Positioning of panels for balanced sound control

Solution

The Circulo™ perforated panels were installed to reduce mid and high-frequency reflections. These panels helped control echo and gave the room a finished look. The Pi 3.14™ Bass Traps were placed in the corners of the room to absorb low-frequency sound. This reduced the strong bass that was present before. Additional fabric-covered wall panels were installed to balance the overall sound in the room.

This combination of products created a full acoustic treatment system that improved sound quality without changing the design of the space.

Result

After installation, the client reported a clear improvement in the sound. Echo was reduced. Bass was more controlled. Speech and music became easier to hear and understand. The client was pleased with the results and shared positive feedback with our team.
